A Third Generation Of Service
In 1904, Gilbert S. Woxland, hence the name G.S. Woxland Co., began his business as a small tin shop, primarily serving his customers with windmill repairs and rain gutters. With the advent of central coal heating furnaces, his tin shop naturally grew by adding furnace installations and duct work made of tin. The 1930s and 40s brought underground water lines.
At the time of his death in 1952, his two sons, Donald and Gerhard, Glenn and Brad's father, along with one son-in-law, Myron Forsythe, took over. Indoor plumbing was becoming commonplace. The heating industry continued to be on the rise as oil and gas were included as a primary fuel instead of coal.
In 1984, two of his grandsons, Brad and Glenn Woxland (pictured), stepped in to carry on the third generation of what would now be a full service plumbing, heating and cooling business in Rushford.
